60 Minutes’ Edits Out Obama‘s Claim That He’s the Fourth Best President

President Barack Obama sat for an extensive interview with CBS’s “60 Minutes” last week, though it appears the portion of the interview actually broadcast on TV left out a statement where Obama essentially declared himself the fourth best president in terms of his accomplishments.

The statement was only made available online as part of the full interview on “60 Minutes Overtime.”

According to a transcript posted on the “60 Minutes” website, Obama said he would hold his accomplishments so far as president against those of Lyndon B. Johnson, Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

“I would put our legislative and foreign policy accomplishments in our first two years against any president — with the possible exceptions of Johnson, F.D.R., and Lincoln — just in terms of what we’ve gotten done in modern history,” Obama told CBS’s Steve Kroft.

Glenn Beck is back with a new internet tv show GBTV

Conservative TV host Glenn Beck faces his first big test since leaving Fox News when his new two-hour show begins today.


The first episode of “Glenn Beck,” which will air on his new Internet-only network GBTV, will focus on taking action, particularly in the wake of the 10-year anniversary of Sept. 11. Mr. Beck will also discuss the economy.

Mr. Beck said the show will in some ways break from his old program, with new contributors and double the length. But it will also resemble the show he anchored on Fox with features like his trademark chalkboard and call to activism. “GBTV is not for slugs,” he said. “It’s news for people who want to get involved and play a role in saving our country.”

Mr. Beck said he will have “complete creative control since I own the show and the network.” His production company, Mercury Radio Arts, owns GBTV as well as the new daily show. News Corp. owns Fox. (It also owns The Wall Street Journal.)
The TV industry will be closely watching to see whether Mr. Beck can preserve his popularity while migrating to the Web, where efforts to get consumers to pay to watch online-only channels are just beginning.

When Mr. Beck announced GBTV in June, the network had a modest 80,000 subscribers. In the months since, subscribers have swelled to more than 230,000, according to people close to the network.
That’s far shy of the more than 2.2 million daily viewers the program on Fox drew, on average, over its 27-month run, which ended in June after clashes with network management. But it is more than the average 156,000 people who watched the Oprah Winfrey Network in June.

Like GBTV, OWN was started by a major TV personality, but it is available through a traditional cable subscription. By contrast, Mr. Beck’s network is available a la carte to subscribers who pay $9.95 a month to stream the network on gbtv.com and over interconnected devices such as tablets and mobile phones.

Srinivas thinks it’s time for more fiscal stimulus, not less.  “Not all economies can print IOUs, but the U.S. can” he explains.  Spending cuts will tip the economy into recession.  “A Hayekian decline,” the economist says, “will destroy the social fabric, and it’s not clear that the economy will pick up as before.”

Taking a Hayekian stance would imply cutting spending and forcing a deflation so that asset prices would return to a point where they reflect the underlying value of assets.  In other words, letting the price mechanism, and not a distorted, intervened market do it inefficiently.  Srinivas agrees the price mechanism is the most efficient resource allocator, but he doesn’t believe it is necessary suffer the blow of a mass deflation.  “It’s just better to manage the decline rather than having a huge explosion,” he says.

But, with political gridlock in Washington, weak political leadership in both parties, and an absolute reluctance to spend more, Srinivas is pessimistic.  "This depression will last most of the decade," he says.

Peggy Noonan  said that “nobody loves Obama.” Her opinion piece is all the more noteworthy for calling the president “a loser.” There are many legitimate criticisms you could level against Obama, particularly about his governing style or his personality. The notion that “nobody loves Obama” is something Noonan says she’s “never seen in national politics.” She goes on to write:

The fact is, he's good at dismantling. He's good at critiquing. He's good at not being the last guy, the one you didn't like. But he's not good at building, creating, calling into being. He was good at summoning hope, but he's not good at directing it and turning it into something concrete that answers a broad public desire.
And so his failures in the debt ceiling fight. He wasn't serious, he was only shrewd—and shrewdness wasn't enough. He demagogued the issue—no Social Security checks—until he was called out, and then went on the hustings spouting inanities. He left conservatives scratching their heads: They could have made a better, more moving case for the liberal ideal as translated into the modern moment, than he did. He never offered a plan. In a crisis he was merely sly. And no one likes sly, no one respects it.

So he is losing a battle in which he had superior forces—the presidency, the U.S. Senate. In the process he revealed that his foes have given him too much mystique. He is not a devil, an alien, a socialist. He is a loser.

And this is America, where nobody loves a loser.

I was watching the John Stossel show on FOX. He was discussing the book "Road to Serfdom". I an remember that this book was a favorite of Glenn Beck.

He does stress the importance of the free individual and small government. He does not like any top down government. I might even finally order this book today from Amazon online. I do miss the Glenn Beck show.

Just watching the Glenn Beck show, it was amazing to see what Rep Weiner make a fool of himself and desytoyed his political future.

Also heard on Hannity that there are over 200 emails out there along with more photos of himself. One was describered as x rated, described as Weiner  excited about life.


It will be interesting to see how long he lasts,  and how the Democrats and Nancy Pelsoi handles this problem.

Why is it that Obama and his comrades are always trying to reduce power creation in the US ?

His energy policy seems to reduce any domestic oil production , while promoting oil drilling in South America for some very leftist regimes.

Just  watched Friday show again on the dvr. It's look like Glenn Beck will be laying out a plan of action for his viewers / followers next week.

I always felt frustrated after watching Glenn, I seldom took action on any of the info and data he provided. I hope Glenn provides some sort of concrete plan of action for his audience in the future.

Once he leaves FOX News I feel his format may change from a educational /enlightenment mode to a more political action committee on the ground thru the country and world.

He hints on how he will continue his projects but didnt' really elaborate any details.
His show has been a force in media and the political world.

I always found his shows to be very enlightening and educational. His treatment of the founding fathers was amazing.


I hope and pray that he will continue on cable v /broadcast TV.

Excellent show today, Glenn Beck suggested that Obama and his policies may be an attempt to run down / erode America.

I thought this was a bold ideal, because the next question is why would anyone want to do this. Glenn mentions that people could profit from the downfall of America, John Soros was a name that Glenn mentioned.

The goal of these people would be to profit and gain political power over the people after the downfall.


In some of my previous posts, I felt Obama was dumbing down America both domestically and on the global stage.

While we will have more details soon, Glenn issued a challenge to people to be a force for good on TV today, and called for flash mobs of kindness across the country on Thursday, April 21st.

 Glenn suggested, as a group, giving canned goods to people in need. He said you should focus on places like food lines and unemployment offices. Glenn said you should give to them, encourage them and let them know it will get better, and leave. However, you can organize something different if you want, just be a force for good.


A few weeks ago, Glenn challenged viewers to be a force for good in the world on Thursday, April 21st by forming “flash mobs of kindness” across the country. Glenn suggested, asa a group, giving canned goods to people in need. He said you should focus on places like food lines and unemployment offices. Glenn said participants should not only gived canned goods, but also give the recipients words of encouragement that it would get better.
 Yesterday, Glenn also suggested reaching out to military families and giving them support. Such action would be a great comfort to our servicemen and women overseas. However, you can organize something different if you want, just be a force for good.

Just watching the tv show the "Good  Wife", in today's story a recruiter said that "America is dying" to a worker in an attempt to recruit her to Canada.


I personally found this line disturbing. Is this really a common opinion in Canada and elsewhere in the world ?

It may be a result of Obama and company trying to run a government /or not trying.

Doing Good Day on Thursday April 21   this is also Holy Thursday

A new project by Glenn Beck. He promoting a "Doing Good" day where flash mobs will donate groceries to people who are in need. He suggested places like the unemployment offices. This "don't give up on hope" day will be a nice to people day.
